How it Works for Outsourcing

If you're in need of a qualified gig worker, we make it easy to find one.

First, start by posting a job on our job board. This allows you to list a remote gig, job, or task that freelancers and gig workers can bid on.

We offer two different types of requests - free and featured.

While a free request will get you exposure, we suggest paying for a posting a featured request, as they offer more exposure and engagement.

To post a job, simply select the type of job you'd like to post and then submit the listing.

Once your job is live, review bids from top-rated gig workers, freelancers, and outsourcing partners.

Carefully evaluate their profiles and past work to find the best match for your needs.

Finally, select the ideal candidate and start your project, ensuring clear communication and expectations for a successful collaboration.

If you'd rather select a partner on your own terms, we've als assembled a simple directory of freelancers and outsourcing companies.

This allows you to find a qualified outsourcing partner without having to read bids and sort through proposals.

In addition, our team also offers a more turnkey recruitment service that makes the outsourcing process even simpler.

All you need to do is submit a request, and somebody from our team will reach out to identify your needs.

From there, our outsourcing team will get to work.

We'll reach out to our trusted network of freelancers, agencies, an outsourcing companies to identify a solution that will meet your needs and requirements.

Once we find one, we'll put you in touch and let you take it from there.

Lastly, we've created a simple, yet thorough, guide to outsourcing that shows you the steps needed to outsource a task to an outsourcing partner.

How it Works for Gig Workers

In addition to helping companies outsource tasks, we also offer a variety of work opportunities for gig workers.

First, we suggest freelancers create a Gig Worker Profile on our Freelancer Directory, and outsourcing partners apply for inclusion on our Outsourcing Companies Directory.

Our rigorous vetting process ensures that only top-quality profiles get approved, gaining significant exposure to clients seeking the best talent.

Next, check out our job board, where you can find open gigs, remote job opportunities, and browse available tasks that people are looking to outsource to gig workers.

Who is Behind the Site?

My name is Brett Helling, and I am the founder and owner of Gigworker.com.

Gigworker started as a passion project that I built after gaining experience doing hundreds of side hustles throughout my life.

I’ve been a rideshare driver since early 2012, having completed many trips for companies including Uber, Lyft, and Postmates.

In 2014 I acquired Ridester.com to share my rideshare experiences with other drivers.

Since that time, I’ve expanded my knowledge-sharing efforts by creating this site, as well as writing the book Gigworker: Independent Work and the State of the Gig Economy, now available for purchase on Amazon.

I share helpful knowledge about the industry, which is regularly quoted by publications such as Forbes, Vice, CNBC, and more.

More About Brett’s Career Path

How Our Company Came to Be

Gigworker started as a simple concept: to bring success to those in the gig economy.

Since then, we’ve produced thousands of pieces of content, built many different interactive features, and had the opportunity to acquire multiple websites that we think are a great fit for our audience.

2015
Starting Out

Brett Helling creates Ridester.com, a comprehensive resource for the rideshare industry

The site grows over the next few years, and he realizes he is onto something big.

He continues to expand his portfolio of websites, while heavily focusing on the growth of Ridester.

Over the next few years, Ridester eclipses 1,500,00 unique visitors per month.

2019
The Big Idea

While at the bottom of an indoor pool during a scuba driving training dive, Brett looks up and sees the lights in the ceiling.

He realizes that Ridester was just one lightbulb – just one part of something much bigger than ridesharing – and there were many other industries that people might need help with.

That day, he begins researching the gig economy.

Early 2020
Gigworker V1

After months of work, Gigworker.com in its first form is launched.

The site initially takes a focus exclusively on information sharing, while the Gigworker team builds additional features in the background.

The Gigworker team continues to steadily produce content, build features, and expand the information on the site.

During that time, Brett Helling also begins writing a book about the gig economy.

He’s extensively researched the industry, so by this point, pulling together the data has become second nature.

Late 2020
Book Published

Brett puts the finishing touches on his book, and then launches it publicly.

Gigworker: Independent Work and the State of the Gig Economy becomes available for purchase on Amazon, rising to become a best-seller in less than one year.

2021
Brand Overhaul

The website is also rebuilt from the ground up in an effort to make navigating the various elements simpler and easier.

What you see on the site today is the accumulation of those efforts – a brand that stands the test of time.

The team rolls out popular features such as the Company Directory, Side Hustle directory, Side Hustle Database, VIP Membership program, and more.

The entire Gigworker brand receives a full overhaul, including logo, messaging, and mission.

2024
Gigworker V2

Gigworker.com is once again redesigned.

After realizing that information alone will not suffice the intent of readers, the team overhauls the design to help better find information, features, and guides.

The team also builds an MVP of the job board. In doing so, they realized that there is a massive demand for a browsable gig economy directory.

2024
Current Status

Our team is actively working to build a site that our users love.

As you can see, we’ve gone to great lengths to do so this far, but we’re always open to feedback and how we can improve.

If you have an idea, suggestion, or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

We provide all the different ways our team can be contacted on our Contact Page.

At GigWorker.com, we maintain rigorous standards of quality and research so that you only encounter top-tier content on our site.
