How’d you like to get a cash sign-on bonus for signing up to drive for Uber and completing a few rides?
After all, everybody loves a little padding in their bank account, so this is a promotion you aren’t going to want to miss.
For a limited time, Uber is offering new drivers the opportunity to claim a sign-up bonus potentially worth thousands of dollars.
In this article, I’ll show you the best way to make money as a new driver by using an Uber driver invite code, how to apply one to your account during sign up, and what happens when you get on the road.
Let’s dive right in. But first, make sure you get the most important piece of the promotion correct.
Use the 2023 Uber invite code “wg2ustj27f8q” during the signup process, and you could unlock a cash bonus worth up to $2,500.
Bonuses vary by city and are subject to Uber’s terms of service.
To claim the huge signup bonuses Uber is currently offering new drivers, simply click the link below and the cash bonus will be automatically applied to your account.
After finishing the application and getting approved to drive, earning the bonus is as easy as completing the bonus requirements for your city’s new Uber driver promotion.
Once those requirements are complete, the bonus will automatically be paid out to your driver account and you’ll have extra cold hard cash in your pocket.
A few things to keep in mind when claiming a sign up bonus:
Watch the video below to learn more about the Uber invite code and how signup bonuses work:
Current Uber sign on bonuses can be worth up to $2,500, depending on which city you sign up to drive in.
Drivers applying in 2023 can expect higher payouts in cities with high passenger demand and low driver supply.
Typically, the biggest markets pay the most.
Some of the most lucrative cities include Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Chicago, just to name a few.
Amounts in these cities can be $450, $500, $700, $1,000, or even $2,500 in some cases.
We’ve been tracking payout amounts over the past 3 years, and they’re still as lucrative as ever.
Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to locate hard data on Uber signup bonuses for each city.
Unlike the bonuses unlocked with a Lyft driver promo code, Uber keeps those things under wraps and doesn’t like disclosing specific figures.
For the exact details of what your city’s driver sign up bonus amount and requirements are, please contact your local team, or refer to the application link above.
Uber is currently offering three promotions for drivers: new driver guarantees (also known as an Uber sign up bonus), Quest promotions, and Boost promotions.
Each provide ways to earn additional income on top of normal ride fares.
Let’s discuss each in more detail.
Weekly guarantees are an Uber driver bonus that compensate new drivers for giving a set number of rides.
It “guarantees” they will make a preset dollar amount as long as they give enough rides and meet the requirements outlined in the promotion.
Uber’s standard sign-on bonus pays well, and is a great way to recruit new drivers and increase driver supply.
This type of bonus is only for new drivers, and is claimed in the first step of the signup process using an Uber invite code or referral link.
For example, if you apply to drive using my link, you’ll see the landing page, which shows that the Uber driver sign up bonus has automatically been applied:
As you can see, if you sign up in Omaha, you’ll be guaranteed to make $200 in your first 30 trips.
If you don’t earn $200 during that time, Uber will pay you the difference.
It’s worth noting that the guarantee amount will be specific to the city you’re signing up to drive in, even if it looks like the sign up bonus is for another city.
For example, you can sign up through my page and it’ll advertise an Omaha bonus, but whether you drive in New York, Chicago, or Nebraska, you’ll really get the bonus amount for your city.
Pay attention to the fine print at the bottom of my signup page…
“Different cities have different guarantee offers, so if you sign up in a city different from Omaha, the guarantee you are offered for that city may be different from the one listed on this page for Omaha.”
In short, it doesn’t matter which Uber referral code you use or which city is advertised on the landing page.
The payout will be specific to the city you sign up in, and won’t change from that.
Curious how much you can earn?
Apply now to see how much the Uber sign up bonus is in your city.
During Uber’s rise to dominance, they offered cash bonuses worth thousands.
At one point, all somebody had to do was sign up and they could give as little as one ride and earn a $500 cash bonus just for being on the road.
After things cooled down, the bonuses got smaller but still paid out cold hard cash.
That meant drivers were required to hit a certain ride amount within a preset timeframe, then they’d see a bonus come through to their account.
For example, a driver would earn $500 cash if they gave 30 rides in 30 days, IN ADDITION to what they’d be making on ride fares.
But.. if the driver didn’t give that many rides, they didn’t get a bonus.
Recently, however, Uber changed the structure of the promotions to more of a way to keep drivers on the road to fulfill demand where it’s needed most.
Uber sign up bonuses are one time only, and are only good for new drivers who haven’t yet given a ride.
However, there are two weekly promotions that drivers can also claim.
Similar to the sign up bonuses Uber offered drivers in the past, Quest promotions pay drivers cash for giving a set number of trips.
Quest bonuses change weekly depending on driver supply and demand, are usually offered in larger markets.
When available, this promotion will appear in the “Promotions” section of the “Earnings” tab within the Uber driver app.
Like the amount of the payout amount, the Quest bonus requirements depend on when and where the promotion is being offered for your city.
As an example, a Quest promotion might be something like:
Drive 20 trips, make $80 extra
Thursday, Aug 10, 6 PM – Fri, Aug 11, 6 PM
The requirements will usually include a timeframe in which to complete the rides, the percentage of requests that much be completed/accepted, where the trips must begin, and which Uber vehicle type will be eligible.
Quest promotions will show up in your Uber driver app, but you’ll also get notified via email when this promotion is active in your city.
Boost is a promotion that allows Uber drivers to earn income from increased ride fares during busy times of the day.
Drivers earn more money than usual, and riders experienced decreased wait times during high demand.
It’s a win win for both parties.
Boost is similar to SURGE pricing in that drivers are compensated a multiple of normal ride fares in certain areas of town, but passengers don’t pay any more for the ride.
Essentially, Uber subsidizes the ride to saturate specific areas with drivers so that passenger demand is met.
When this promotion is active, drivers are guaranteed a multiple of what normal Uber ride fares cost.
A $20 ride fare in a 2X boost zone becomes $40, just as a $10 trip in a 1.4X boost zone becomes $14.
You can find this promotion in your Uber driver app, or watch out from an email from a local Uber team.
It’ll highlight the boost amount, and the days/hours the boost is active.
The promotions listed above are the ones that are actively available for drivers in most cities.
Aside from the Uber incentives for drivers once they complete the signup process, I want to also touch on a few promotions now that the company has run in the past, so you can keep your eyes out for them if they ever become available again.
In the early days of rideshare expansion, this bonus was meant to poach drivers from Lyft and bring them to Uber, and it paid pretty darn well.
As far as we know, Uber is no longer running this promotion.
In the past, the company is very vague about this bonus and we suspect that it isn’t coming back.
However, we’ll update this section if it does, so check back often to see if it’s available in your city.
The Uber bonus for existing Lyft drivers is great for drivers who want extra cash and additional demand.
There are many Lyft drivers who sign up to drive for Uber and continue driving for Lyft.
You can do both, and will still get the bonus as long as you meet a few requirements:
If you pay attention to Uber’s driver promotions, you may have noticed that new Uber drivers with Lyft experience used to only have to make just 1 trip in order to get the bonus it is still very doable as long as you stay committed.
I know plenty of drivers who switched to Uber, got the cash sign up bonus, then kept driving for Lyft.
Now is a great time to apply for Uber, use the Uber driver invite code in the link, and get the bonus!
Uber treats its drivers well, and demand is pretty steady.
There’s nothing to lose!
Applying to drive for Uber is easy.
As long as you meet the driver and vehicle requirements, you’re good to go.
Here’s how to apply.
Step 1 – Apply through the official Uber driver application link
The first step in the Uber driver application process is to visit the Uber driver application page and fill out some basic information.
This includes…
If you already have an Uber account, you can sign in to that then proceed to step 2.
Note: It’s important that you sign up through the link above, or another driver’s referral link.
If you enter through Uber’s basic signup form on their website, you won’t get your new driver referral bonus.
If you apply through our referral link, the code will automatically populate when you click it.
If your signup page doesn’t look like the image below, start the process over again by clicking this link.
Taking this step now saves you a huge headache later, and helps you avoid having to fight to have a bonus retroactively applied to your account.
Step 2 – Choose which option you’d like to drive with
In this step, you’ll select which driving or delivering option you’d like to sign up for.
Select from UberX, UberBLACK, Delivery by car, Delivery by bicycle, Suburbs, UberTAXI, and more.
Step 3 – Submit to a background check
You need to submit to an Uber background check before you can drive.
If your record is clean, there’s nothing to worry about.
If you have a DUI, felony, or another serious mark on your record, however, you’re ineligible to drive.
Step 3 – Fill out your vehicle information
Your vehicle information includes insurance, year, make, model, and pictures of the interior and exterior of your vehicle.
This will help riders identify your vehicle when you pull up, which gives riders clarity and is another way to prevent the wrong riders from getting in your car.
Step 5 – Get the driver app
Unlike Lyft, the Uber driver and passenger app are totally separate.
You must download the Uber Driver app and sign-in there.
Step 6 – Upload photos of documents
When uploading documents to partners.uber.com, make sure they are clear, readable, and most importantly up to date.
The more care you take in ensuring accurate documents, the less delays you’ll experience.
Step 7 – Watch the Uber driver training videos then wait to hear back
Uber now requires you to watch a training video series.
Uber calls this the “Uber Partner Information Videos” and give you an idea of how Uber works and what to expect when picking up riders.
As time goes on, Uber continues to slash rates in it’s cutthroat battle with Lyft over market share.
With rates decreasing, and Uber taking a larger commission by the day, it’s wise to figure out additional ways to increase income.
Luckily for existing drivers, that’s easy to do with the Uber refer a friend program within their app.
Uber’s Refer a Friend program is the most lucrative way, in my opinion, for drivers to increase their income.
In short, Uber will award drivers with cash when they refer their friends to drive or ride with Uber.
These cash bonuses are a VERY good and easy way to make quite a bit of money.
As you can see, I made an additional $400 in one week, just by referring new drivers.
So, how do these bonuses work?
Bonuses are broken down into two sections:
Uber drivers are given a promo code they can use to refer drivers to Uber.
As we touched on above, these referral bonuses are double-sided, so both the new driver and the referring driver get a bonus!
Drivers can share their Uber driver referral code with their friends, family, or even just random strangers.
If that referral signs up to drive and meets the requirements, they get the bonus.
I have personally earned thousands of dollars by referring people to the app and can tell you that it’s pretty easy money as long as you are willing to grind for it.
The passenger promo code is the same as the driver code, making the referral process much easier.
Right now, Uber gives drivers cash for every new rider they refer, so just by casually mentioning Uber in a conversation can earn you quite a bit of extra coin.
I wrote this Uber driver review from my perspective, a real-life Uber driver.
I have given quite a few rides in my time, and I have seen a lot, giving me experience that allows me to review the Uber app in a detail from a non-biased perspective.
To conclude this guide, here are answers to some common questions about Uber invite codes.
1. Where are Uber driver invite codes available?
Uber driver invite codes are available in a variety of cities.
Here are just a few U.S. cities where drivers can claim sign up bonuses:
– Boston
– Chicago
– Dallas
– Los Angeles
– New York City
– San Francisco
To find out if there’s a referral bonus available for your city, just click this link.
If your city is eligible, you’ll see a message at the top of it that says, “EARN AT LEAST $X, GUARANTEED” (with “X” being the dollar amount guaranteed for your city).
2. Does the Uber driver invite code apply to specific types of Uber rides?
The Uber referral code is valid for all types of Uber rides.
The guaranteed amount generally targets those driving for UberX, as this platform tends to have lower earnings than other specialized Uber services such UberSELECT, UberBLACK, and UberSUV.
The guarantee will still apply, however, no matter what type of ride you give.
3. Can existing drivers use the Uber invite code?
No, they cannot.
Uber does not allow retroactive referrals.
The Uber driver sign up bonus is available only to new Uber drivers.
This is why it’s so important to sign up with a referral link (or input a referral code like “PRGEY“) when applying.
Otherwise, you’ll miss out on the new driver bonus.
Having said that, there are promotions and opportunities to earn extra for existing Uber drivers.
4. What’s the difference between the Uber invite code and the Uber promo code?
There is no difference.
You’ll hear people use both terms, and they refer to the same opportunity to earn an Uber driver bonus when signing up.
5. When will I receive my Uber sign up bonus?
You should receive the bonus amount once you’ve met the ride quota and the required amount of time has passed.
Note that Uber starts counting the days from the moment of signing up, not from when you start driving.
Once you get your bonus, you’ll be able to see it on your pay statement in the Uber driver app.
We hope this guide has helped you understand how powerful Uber invite codes are, as well as how you can use them to your full advantage.
